Isaiah 60 is a prophecy to the body of Christ and to Israel. Verse 12 says, "For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted."
I was in the presence of Derek Prince on several occasions and heard him read this verse and apply it to his home country Great Britain. Derek said, "Over the years, I have watched Great Britain lose it's influence in the world. I believe it is because they would not serve Israel." (paraphrased)
In Deuteronomy 28:15 it says, "But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:"
Some of the curses that follow in not hearkening unto the voice of God are found in verses 47-50, "Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; v.47
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.v.48
The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;v.49
A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:" v.50
John Wesley was born in Great Britain and was one of the most influential men, teaching New Testament scripture in modern times. It is apparent that Great Britain largely rejected the New Testament and today has a segment of their population that denies the Lord Jesus Christ. I see this very thing taking place in the United States of America.
God bless you,
