An Angel Visits Me
I am sure sometime in my earlier growing up years I was told that I had an
angel that was 'my angel' that was assigned to watch over me. Looking back, there
were times when this angel, or these angels, would protect me and keep me from danger and
would even talk to me. I would probably think it was my own mind telling me,
"Don't do that", or "go here and do this" etc. But other than
that I never knew much about angels, and I am not saying you need to, other than in
Hebrews 1:14 it says, "Are they (angels) not all ministering spirits, sent forth to
minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" What we are to know is the
gospel, which is the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, because that is the
power (ability) of God unto our salvation if we believe.
Since I came to Water of Life Church in August 1985 and God opened my eyes
to read the Word of God, and by the Spirit started giving me understanding of what it says
(revealing it to my spirit by His Spirit), I saw in reading it that there were angels that
spoke to many of these people in the Bible, and there were many accounts of it too.
So in August 1987, it was no surprise who was talking to me. I have had the
Father, Jesus, and yes, angels speak to me, and most of the time I can discern which one
it is. And I knew that this time it was an angel talking to me.
For a 2-3 week period God sent this angel into my bedroom every night.
I would go to bed and around 2:00-3:00 a.m. this angel would wake
me up. After the first few times I would actually go to bed looking
forward to him coming in and waking me up. And when he did, I would get my Bible,
close the door behind me, and go into the den and sit on the sofa. This angel would
start talking to me, (just like as if I were in a room with you talking to you), and he
would tell me things about my life and then he would always confirm what he said in the
Word. There were many things spoken over this period of time that I do
not remember. But there were three distinct things that he spoke to me that I
definitely remember and all the other things spoken centered around these three events.
When it is right in the spirit I will share them with you as God directs.
But when he told me these things, I was as sober as sober can be.
There was no laughing, no crying, I just said, "Okay Lord,
do it." When I said this, the Lord had me turn to Luke 1:26-80.
In verse 38, after this angel had visited Mary and told her about her life,
she said, 'be it unto me according to thy word'. (The Lord showed
me even my response was scriptural!). Before that response, Mary did say,
"How shall this be....?" My questions came in the days ahead, and my main
question was, "When are you going to do this, Lord?" UNBELIEF! God
has taken the 'when' question out of me. Thank God! Faith knows and is
confident. I never knew the things that would have to be overcome before these
manifestations could take place; and the major overcoming has been in dealing with my
soul. The soul is always the biggest problem you will encounter with your walk with
God. The reason being - it lusts against the things of the Spirit (Galatians 5:17).
But once you overcome your own soul (mainly the doubt and unbelief in it)
this walk gets easier and easier. I am not saying you will not have pressures
or battles to fight, because you will. Jesus said in this world you shall have
tribulation (pressure), but to be of good cheer; for He had overcome the world.
It is just your soul will be in subjection to the Spirit, and not give you
the fits as it did before in fighting these wars that come down your path. I can
honestly say that Isaiah 32:17 has taken place in my life, which says, "And the work
of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance
for ever." Also, I Peter 5:10, "....after that ye have suffered a while,
(the God of all grace), make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you." (A
few years back you could have put the prefix 'un' in front of these words and that would
have described me perfectly). So God has done a tremendous (at least to me) work in
remolding my life (Jeremiah 17). And I have by no means arrived. I am
just grateful to be where I am this day. Praise God.
If you never have had problems with your soul in your walk with God, and
you just breeze right through everything, you might ask God what spirit you are walking
in. Because once you start walking in the Spirit, your flesh (soul) will give you
all kinds of trouble until you overcome it. And believing this gospel (trusting in,
relying on, and adhering to it) is what will bring you through all your unbelief.
Many, many hours of praying and reading the Psalms and New Testament
out loud too. Matter of fact, if you believe the gospel, you will
read and pray.
For years God has been purifying my soul so that I can obtain these
promises He made to me by the Spirit. I cannot tell you how many times Romans
4:17-25 has ministered to me regarding Abraham and his life. God had made a promise
to him (and Sarah) and told him he was going to have a son. He was 100 years old and
Sarah was 90 years old. Can you imagine that? No, this was not a fairy tale.
This absolutely took place, because God's word is true.
Both of their bodies were dead and God spoke this to them. And faith was what
produced this child. No flesh was involved. Why? Because God said
that no flesh would glory in His presence. Anything God speaks to you will be
performed through faith in the gospel. The power of God alone - no flesh! But
in verse 20 it states; "He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through
unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; vs. 21, "and being fully
persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform", vs. 22. "and
therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness." (It will be imputed to us
also, if we believe).
Not once (and God is my witness) have I doubted what this angel spoke to
me 11 years ago. What I know about God is that, "He is not a man that He should
lie; neither the son of man, that He would repent: hath he said, and shall he not do
it? or hath he spoken and shall he not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19).
One thing I will add here that I believe God wants me to say, is that
there has been many wicked hearts in wicked people that have opposed me and God's purposes
for my life. And not a one of them has, or can, stop me from obeying God and having
His will performed in my life. People have openly and in their hearts
resisted me and God knows who you are. But one thing I know is that there is no man
who can stay the hand of God and keep Him from fulfilling His plan for my life. I
told my mother a few years back, and it seems appropriate to say it here, that if this is
not God in me, it will come to nothing; but if this be God in me, you will have found
yourself fighting against God (Acts 5:38-39). You cannot fool God. June 17, 2008 8:52 PM Lisa, Do you
believe that no man can stop this, well the liar that you live with has certainly hindered
this. I agree he nor anyone else can stop you from coming home. Doyle ne
Years back (since August 1987 when this angel visited me) God revealed to
me that everything He planned for my life has been ordained from the foundation of the
world. That is an incredible thing to know that whatever God does with your life was
in His plan from the foundation of the world. So there are no mistakes with God.
I have absolutely seen God take my heart and completely change it
overnight in a certain situation. There are times I wished He would have done that
on many things, but that is His business. In Proverbs 21:1 it says, "The king's
heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it
whithersoever he will." But one thing I have learned is that He can, and
will, do with us as He pleases and the sooner we get in line with His plan, the better off
we will be. His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts,
they are much higher. And He says He is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all
we can think or ask according to the power that works in us. So there is nothing but
victory in walking with God. I will also say that this is one of the most
adventurous walks there is on this earth. Nothing can be compared to it.
I would encourage you today to believe this gospel and see the salvation that
God has for your life manifest daily. He is no respecter of person's.
Well, praise God and God bless you!

I am very happy to bring these testimonies out and
post them. I see they are sound doctrine and what I remember them to say.
