The Gifts of the Spirit |
In the last couple of weeks Doyle has spoken and prayed from 1 Corinthians 12:
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
I believe the Father would like me to share a couple instances of how these verses have worked in my life.
Years ago there was a group of us at our home praying. I was sitting next to a woman who is a very good friend of mine. I knew God wanted to minister to her, and as we were praying I saw in the Spirit a photograph of her (word of knowledge), and as I looked at that picture, especially the eyes, I knew what spirit God was after; Rejection. (Discerning of spirits). As we kept praying, the Spirit of God told me not to lay hands on her, but to place my hands about 6 inches off the top of her head and command that spirit to go. (Word of wisdom) As I did so I could sense in my spirit rejection pulling away from her body. (working of miracles)
Recently one of my family members was is in serious trouble. The authorities were about to do something with them that would have destroyed their life. My family knew that the only hope was prayer. That night, while I was dancing at Water of Life, faith rose up in my heart and I spoke out loud You cant have him! (the gift of faith) I knew I was speaking directly to the spirit that was out to destroy him. God intervened and the situation was changed.
Not long ago while we were dancing I was conscience that I kept dancing beside a certain women. As I came around and saw that I was again dancing next to her, the Lord spoke to me, She desires to dance like she used to, and she will. Later that day the Father told me to share that with her. (Gift of prophecy)
Last month I was talking to the woman that cleans my house. She told me her daughter was taken to the hospital that morning. Her daughter was expecting and her water began to leak. She had begun to go into labor. The baby was too premature and they were trying to stop the baby from coming. Out of my mouth came Jesus, have mercy on that baby! (Gift of healing) When I saw her the next week I asked how her daughter and grandchild were doing. She said when she returned home after leaving my house and spoke to her daughter, that her labor had stopped and so did the leak. The doctors told her they found the baby was safely in a pocket of water and then sent her home for bed rest. The baby was born several weeks later, a full pound heavier and was breathing on its own within an hour of birth. The last I heard the baby was coming home early because it was doing so well. Thank you Jesus!
You know what? These are examples of normal Christianity! They are meant for every Christian. They are just manifestations of Jesus in us. They work and have worked in me for years, and I am just a woman! They work because of a revelation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I received that revelation from an apostle and prophet. Just like the word of God tells us we would!
Ephesians 4:8 states: Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Amen!
